"There has to be a better way of counting deer than making them run through the snow in front of a helicopter!"
Well, Mr. Willshire, what is it? Don't pose a complaint without a possible solution. 'sides... what data do you have that this activity causes undue mortality in these animals, or is this just an untested theory of yours?
I have lived in many places in my life, but I have NEVER been in a place where the well being of children as poorly regarded as it is here. I don't know what it is; the transient nature of portions of the workforce, the "just leave us be" cultural undercurrents, or what, but life in here in "the real west" is awfully hard on too many young ones. My children, coming from a normal, quiet, loving family seem to be an increasing rarity in this town. If Moffat County wants to represent what it's political leanings are meant to suggest, it had better get real serious about this issue real quick.
I haven't had a chance to sample Double Barrel's steaks, but Craig, oddly enough, has never had a decent steak place in my time here. I sincerely hope you fix that. Second, I will greatly miss Casa Loya. Having grown up in Texas and New Mexico, I can honestly say that y'all are the only Mexican place in town that gets it right. I can't stand the other joints in town. Please come back once you get rested up!
Agreed. No better way to forever turn off an 8 year old to a sport than to turn it into some version of Lawrence's trek across the Nafud. It is supposed to be fun for the kids, not boot camp.
Conditions are bad. This drought is worse than the one ten years ago. That, coupled with all of the fuel left from the recent wet years has left us a tinder box. The fire in Powderwash went to nearly 1200 acres. I mean, when is the last time you heard about a fire up that way, much less one that large? There's a lot more fuel around Craig and certainly around places like Knez Divide. A fire ban was about a month overdue if you ask me.
Rg, you are certainly entitled to your own opinion, but not your own facts. The facts are that Sandhill cranes are a game species, they do provide meat, and they exist in sufficient numbers for hunters to take a limited amount of them on a sustainable basis. If any of the above three facts were not true, I'd see your point, but that is not the case.
Wow, Wrestlin, do you save that venom for anyone taking an opposing viewpoint to yours? I'm sure you're the apple of your mommas eye and loved by all.
Well, 1wc, the Colorado Wildlife Commission meets here, in Craig, on June 7th and 8th. Mark it on your calendar and rant to them. Be as cynical as you wish, but attending that meeting would be a heckuva a lot better than ranting on the internet if you feel that strongly about it.
Agreed. Good heavens, you'd think it'd kill folks around here to show just a little bit of pride in their own property. It's not all bad of course, but c'mon, if you don't exude pride in what you call your own, you probably have even less pride in your community.
"Arrested on suspicion of"... what part of this portrays the man guilty? What part of it is not factual? I see stuff like this all the time in newspapers all over the place. As I read it, the ultimate goal of the article was to announce the news conference. Since when are news conferences not newsworthy?
