Rg, you are certainly entitled to your own opinion, but not your own facts. The facts are that Sandhill cranes are a game species, they do provide meat, and they exist in sufficient numbers for hunters to take a limited amount of them on a sustainable basis. If any of the above three facts were not true, I'd see your point, but that is not the case.

Wow, Wrestlin, do you save that venom for anyone taking an opposing viewpoint to yours? I'm sure you're the apple of your mommas eye and loved by all.

Well, 1wc, the Colorado Wildlife Commission meets here, in Craig, on June 7th and 8th. Mark it on your calendar and rant to them. Be as cynical as you wish, but attending that meeting would be a heckuva a lot better than ranting on the internet if you feel that strongly about it.

Agreed. Good heavens, you'd think it'd kill folks around here to show just a little bit of pride in their own property. It's not all bad of course, but c'mon, if you don't exude pride in what you call your own, you probably have even less pride in your community.

“Arrested on suspicion of”… what part of this portrays the man guilty? What part of it is not factual? I see stuff like this all the time in newspapers all over the place. As I read it, the ultimate goal of the article was to announce the news conference. Since when are news conferences not newsworthy?

Not much better. I'm not into celebrating nor excusing mediocrity, even on the internet.

If your keyboard includes two keys to the right of the letter M, I recommend that you familiarize yourself with them. You obviously have something to say but, good Lord, it's painful to read.

Does anyone know if this site is still under some sort of investigation? Will the city require this sad scene to be removed at some point? I sure hope that residents and visitors alike will no longer have to stare into the maw of this tragedy as they pass through town. Or will it just sit, like the motel?

Just to clarify, Ranger, the property that the VFW owns is south of the portion of the park containing the wave pool and most of the playground improvements. The northern part is city property, at least according to the plat I'm looking at. Otherwise, I agree wholeheartedly that the VFW needs to reexamine their position in this matter.
