John, here you go insulting all of our athletes again. "Let’s be honest, folks — MCHS isn’t exactly an uber-athlete factory with big-name alumni catching headlines in the professional ranks." I think it is time to be honest with you......"Lets be honest folks --- Moffat County isn't exactly a place to have a real sports editor".
Now, with that being said....I would agree about the three young ladies you mentioned. They are awesome ladies who do bust their butts. But, knowing the majority of the other athletes, they also have parents who work back breaking jobs. The other athletes also work their butts off and strive to be be the best they can academically. Personally, I don't think you are onto something, nor do you have a real clue about this.

Wow....I see everybody trying to defend Rodney....but....Rodney. Why is this? In a way, the arguments I am hearing remind me of the movie "Fun With Dick and Jane". Dick lost his job and they were getting ready to lose everything they owned. So, Dick and Jane went on a robbery spree. In the movie, they were breaking the law even though they were doing what they thought they needed to do to get the money to keep their goods. Any way you cut it, it was illegal. What Rodney did was no different. He can claim he was doing this to save his "land", but that's a bunch of crap. It was still wrong. What amazes me is the people that feel he is in the right and that breaking the law is okay. I challenge Rodney to login to this site and tell us his side. Maybe then my opinion of this situation will change.

If he would have exhausted all avenues with the DOW, I could better understand what he did. Personally, from what we are seeing during the hunting seasons so far (deer), I'm hoping they cut the deer tags way down next year.

Well luckily calving season does not start until spring. You got lucky and only have 60 days. You might want to get started so you will be out by spring. Also, it will be hilarious if you appeal and get a new trial and get a longer sentence. How about leaving the elk alone this winter?

"This is our homecoming and we are not moving. Tell them to move" is not rude or disrespectful? You gotta be kidding me. True, this is your homecoming, but it is also the town's homecoming. There are many parents there of players on the field and I can guarantee you that this is also their homecoming. Moffat County kids are awesome, for the most part. But, the kids also have a sense of "self-entitlement" that is amazing. I don't know where this comes from, but it is irritating. The days of respecting adults/elders is over as most kids live in a "me" world that is entwined with an ever increasing sense of "instant gratification". So, to make my point....."EIEIO", that is considered rude and disrespectful. Someday you will have kids playing the sports and you may want to see the game......then think back if your attitude is rude and disrepectful or not.

Hopefully before they go with a firm, they will disclose exactly how much this search will cost them, errrr, I mean us the taxpayers. Personally, I want to know what a firm like this costs. Also, I really do believe we have good people on that committee that can go through applications and screen them also. I don't understand spending that much money right now, in this economy, for something that the committee could do itself. Keep spending the money......

The rumor is that Mrs. Villard is being groomed for the superintendent position. If that is the case, why spend all the money on these firms? If the school board is going to do this, don't buffalo the community and waste the money. Just slide her in and see what happens.
