Thank you ! I agree, 18 hours is a small price to pay for the hope of something better for our future. I too will participate but probably won't be a team captin…seems perhaps I get too wrapped up in details as I have been the orgaizer for these types of events and now have a hard time standing on the side lines.
    See you next year!

The carnival people are getting paid to put up the rides, run the rides, and take down the rides. The fair committee actually does participate in a lot of the fair events and they do all the clean up…not the community that just spent $3000 on a beef or pig. The organizers for Widdle the Wood…come on. That isn't a non-profit event either. Of course they don't carve up a damn tree…they are there to make money off the event goers. So My point is….if they had the time to ride around in golf carts they should have been walking a bit. Most of them went home and slept and showered before they came back. PLUS…….each team was required to raise $1000.00 and have a team member on the track all hours of the event. The committee was in the 'race' for most money raised and had an actual 'team' therefore they should have been required to spend time on the track along with the rest of the teams. They were asking for SO MUCH extra help that they should have had the 'work' part taken care of by those who offered their time and wasn't on a team.

? I'm not saying it was a disaster…or anything like that. They made a great deal of money for a wonderful cause. I truely hope someday for a cure, I've spent the better part of the past year wishing a cure would have already come and that it would have saved my dad. Don't get me wrong….. I will continue to do this event for him…for the cause and in hope for a cure.

YES very unorganized…first year is to be expected a bit but it was more unorganized than it should have been in my eyes. We had a few people who also noticed that NONE of the “committee” walked more than one or two laps…I noticed two of them walk a lap with a reporter from the paper and I never saw them walk another lap the enitre time. But they did spend a ton of time on those little golf carts……….I guess that is hard to walk when your either on a golf cart, at home sleeping or showering.
(perhaps other “committee” members did walk more and didn't have their “orange” shirts on to see….that could be. If that's the case to those I applogize, if didn't know you were on the committee.)

Thank you… I was wondering the same thing. What a disrespectful thing to do. A lot of things need to change to have continued success next year and years to come. Starting with the committee!
