No one is required to join a union now. They are just required in some cases to pay their way. A concept not clear to most politicians. Most politicians think that money just falls from the sky. Well Marianna, let me clue you in, it doesn't. Unions need money for the purpose of defending the rights of their members, and negotiating new contracts. Ammendment 47 states that while you are not required to join a union, the union is required to protect your worthless frelloading butt from whatever ill befalls you. This is totally wrong. Maybe you and your business onwing buddies might want this ammendment to break the backs of honest hard working people so that freeloaders can take over. Maybe thats why you are no longer in office in this area

Slipknot is correct about parents doing their job, and getting out to see what their kids are up to. It is the parents responsibility to take care of their kids. Laws are there just to help them, not to do the entire job.

While I must agree that this childs death is a terrible tragedy. I must also wonder why he was out roaming the town at this hour instead of at home, in bed where he should have been. I cannot escape the idea that if this child had been home, asleep the chances he would still be alive are extreme. In my opinion this is the perfect reason for a curfew time for children 18 years to 14 years of age should be 10:00PM. Had a curfew of this nature been in place, there is a chance this child might still be alive. This child should have been at home. My deepest sympathy is with the parents and family of this child.

Yes lonelyone, I believe the fruit and vegetable pedlers should not be allowed in Craig. We have long established stores here that have paid dearly for a chance to do business here by erecting buildings, remodling those buildings and providing goods and services for us. If someone feels the needs to go out of town, I would rather see that than have people come here.

I am not a local dealer. I am a concerned citizen that is tired of seeing out of towners come here and take trade from our local businesses. I do not think that Craig needs anyone from anywhere selling anything here. If you want to sell your goods here, then open up a business here and do all the things that all the other local businesses here have to do to stay in business. Stay in Grand Junction I do not need or want you here. You may be dismayed by other peoples concerns about your sale, I am dismayed that you were even allowed to unload your vehicles. I believe that the city or county leaders that allowed your sale to take place betrayed the local businesses here and the people that want to do business with them. The only way I will ever own a vehicle from one of these out of town sales is if they are giving these vehicles away free of charge. When you sell something here and take trade form our established local businesses it hurts all of us that live here because they do not get the profit from these sales to improve their business and cannot establish a reputation with a local customer. Stay Away!

Looking at the comments here it is obvious to me that this rec center crap should be junked. I do not understand why these people keep planning this thing. Haven't the people spoken enough? Don't the ones on this planning board read these comments? And if they do, don't they get it? What vested interest does this splinter group have, and for what stupid reason did the city leaders allow $20,000.00 of tax dollars to be wasted on an issue that has been voted done and should be dead as a door nail? It makes me wonder if someone isn't getting a kick back from this deal. If these people want this thing then they should pay for it NOT the community. There was a recent poll in this paper asking people what they would vote to rasie taxes for and it was an overwhelming vote of nothing is worth raising taxes of any kind. So these people that in my opinion that are wasting their time planning a rec center better start saving their dimes and nickles to pay for it.

I must agree with Mr. Bear. I cannot believe that the leaders of this city allowed this fly by night outfit to sell their vehicles here. There are car dealers that have paid taxes, done improvements to their businesses, employed many people, stood by their word, and made friends with their customers in this city for years. Only to have their legs shot out from under them by the people that are supposed to be protecting the interests of the people that live here, not a group from out of town. The people that allowed this to happen, in my opinion, should removed from office, as they are not acting in the best interest of this community.

Maybe if Mr. Cook would pay his employees a comparable wage as he is competing with, he could keep his employees on the payroll. But don't tell me that someone I know is very knowledgeable about union activities, is wrong when chances are he was never a union member.

I have to agree. I believe that if he is elected we will be taxed to death. He has already stated he wants to disarm America, and cut the military, leaving us all open to any attack from any enemy.
