I wish that the City would do a better job of organizing and providing entertainment for Whittle the Wood.
I worked in main stream promotions for years and can assure you that far greater talent by musicians you have actually heard of can be hired for what they spend on all the no-name acts. I like Dave but the choice of musical acts seems to extend directly from him and his tastes could not be any worse.
Please do a little research of Frozen Dead Guy Days in Nederland Colorado. A similar festival in comparison to Whittle the Wood, however they execute it with 100% success year in & out and turn it into one of the biggest revenue generators city wide.
Dave is a good guy and I appreciate all he has done….just don't let him pick the music anymore!!!!!!!!!

As Much As I Dislike Romney….here is a message from Kyle Clark with Channel 9news in Denver….

It is common for campaigns to control the messages on signs at their events. On occasion, campaigns will hand out signs and will only allow those in the crowd, especially at big events like a convention. Other times, campaigns will screen signs to make sure there aren't messages that will embarass the candidate. As it is their event, they are allowed to do this.

As for the school district property, school property in Colorado is public property held in trust by individual school boards. The boards establish the policy for community use, so standards vary by district. Typically, partisan political organizations can use school property for a fee (similar to fee for use structures applied to religious organizations or a local non profits, like a Rotary club). The use of school property by a community group does not connote an endorsement, whether that group is a Lions club or a political campaign.

I applaud her and commend her on reporting the truth!
It is something that this newspaper is very good at overlooking…and if you want to speak about Bias…. March your happy cheeks downtown to Yampa Ave. and enjoy a day at the offices of the Daily Press.

Him coming to Craig was nothing but a half cocked attempt at causing a rouse in Colorado….Why Craig….because no one else in Colorado is buying a word this plasticized troll is spewing.

I wish she had wrote a story prior to this one that was titled “Keep Mitt Out of Colorado”.

He should drop his bid for President and go for an elected seat in Utah…that is way more his speed and keeps the wackos where they belong…West of the Colorado state line!

What a waste of money on a lost cause.

Another shining example of despicable leadership in this town.

When we have a failing local education system, are noted as the most un-healthy city/county in the state, and continually bicker about “economic crisis”….

then wtf!!! Spending $25k on this was a downright WASTE!

Do not moan and complain next time there isn't funding for something that is truly needed….and Don't complain when our teachers keep loosing more and more!

    wake up you fools!!!!

    On a technical semantic…

You are not “voting Obama out of office”

It is an open seat, he is not guaranteed a second term until an election is final. Furthermore a single vote is given per voter for a candidate….and that vote is not one that ask's “Who Do You Want To Vote Out Of Office?”

Rosemary, get some tissues sweetheart because come November some news will be handed down to you that you may not like…. 4 more years with Obama!!! :)

Someone should have glittered bombed him again.

I couldn't hold up my signs because I have too many of them.

But the most important one said something like this….

It was a good attempt Mitt….Mr. Obama thanks you for your congratulations on his winning of a second term in the White House”.

4 years from now Mitt may have a chance but not this time around!!!!

    Barack, Barack, Barack…!!!!
