Another Pork Project in Moffat County. —

Most expensive degree I ever got was my PHD from the School of Hard Knocks! My BS degree was a lot cheaper and much easier to attain after working in the Corporate world and having to face reality on a daily basis. I don't mind appointments to commissions as long as the person is an open mind for that commission. I truly believe there needs to be a big housecleaning of DOW and we need it now! Hunting seasons are almost upon us, and things won't get any better. I wish the Daily Press would print again by name who gets the damage payments from wildlife destroying their property or animals, $$ for Ranching for Wildlife, etc. Also, when is someone going to realize that WE own the BLM land, and perhaps the rent on those acres needs to be increased. Just a thought.

Interesting that according to a member of the commission from Moffat County says the officers break the law to help the residents. So which laws can be broken and by whom? Why not allow tags to be purchased after the season starts — or give additional license at a reduced rate after the purchase of the first license. I can't believe the Commission can't come up with ideas, there are several great ideas already on the forum. Maybe they don't want any suggestions. Right now, I consider DOW in the same boat as FEMA after Katrina! Lack of accountability and responsibility combined with action paralysis!

The hospital will be full of overruns. Stan tried to tell everyone what was going on, how to read the misinformation from the hosptial staff and why the voters should vote NO. Now that all the truth is coming out, there isn't much coming from the hospital is there? I would hope that HUD does due dilligence on this application. And having an open bid would be a good way to make sure we aren't paying for a purse made out of a sow's ear! I would hope the Board of the hospital has seen the application so they know what a mess is being created behind their backs. The County Commissioners need to review the application too before they end up with another Justice Center.Patricia McCaffrey, Moffat County Taxpayer

It's too bad as a group we didn't start asking more questions regarding what the hospital was really going to cost all of us. And why hasn't the Hospital opened up the bidding process. It would appear the money is moving from one pocket to another, and the companies in Craig/Moffat County should be getting some of the work. The financials of the hospital should be giving the board members nightmares. I don't know how they sleep at night. Maybe they are afraid to ask questions, as in Craig/Moffat County, asking a questions to give clarity or to receive more information means you are negative . It's either “you are with us, or you are against us” whenever you want clarity. If you question any financial data provided, you also are painted with a negativity. It is so sad. Maybe we need to have the Rocky Mountain News or the Denver Post start looking at this, or maybe O'Reilly might want to have his staff look into the financials. Time for transparency with all the numbers thrown around for the hospital. I think the citizens would be shocked to know just how poorly the Profit and Loss is for the Hospital. There is just too many incidents of conflict of interest.

Remember, the citizens voted for the new school, and it appears the voters had on rose colored glasses and felt new was better than saving it. It's too bad as a group we didn't start asking more questions — but in Craig/Moffat County, asking a questions to give clarity or to receive more information means you are negative . It's either “you are with us, or you are against us” whenever you want clarity. If you question any financial data provided, you also are painted with a negativity. It is so sad. :-(

Thanks to our Veterans, we can all express our views. I am so proud of those who have always been ready to give their all to make sure we have our rights as Americans. And I will always defend your right to express your views, even if I don't always agree with you. God Bless our Veterans!

I don't disagree, it's too bad that it doesn't represent all of Craig's community. Look at the nice ones that get done every year for the Sheep Dog Trials in Meeker. And it is a poster that should represent 100 years of Craig — Maybe someone will add other items to the next big celebration in 50 years. :-)

Well Done! We need more support on those in the community to work hard to make our County and City a much better environment for all of us. Thanks for stepping forward!

And they forgot the cattle on the poster too! But then again, maybe we don't have any ranchers around the area. I have a very busy and full life, but do as much volunteering as possible. Fortunatelyfor me, my parents instilled the value of civic duty, volunteering, the Constitution and the Bill of Rights, and the Declaration of Independence, whichall give me the right as an American to voice my feelings opinions, beliefs, and comments. I have written a lot of letters positive about things in Craig along with letters on things which couldbe improved within the community. I believe in Lighting a candle versus cursing the darkness, and work hard to support various activities within the community. I have received a lot of comments from the community who agree with me and feel that we shouldn't have rushed the poster and made sure all of the community was represented. While I have been told lately, that I have brass ones, I sign my name to all my letters, posts, etc. Patricia McCaffrey, Taxpayer, Business Owner, and foremost an American Citizen!
