And can you believe some of the people selected as leaders of our community - what a farce!

Too bad we can't put a red tag on vicious humans and give them two strikes rather than three. I am sorry the bear had to be put down, but if he had lost his fear of humans, then he became too dangerous for the community.

The land isn't free, we taxpayers paid for that land, and I don't think we should give it away for “free”. Everyone who works for the public usually misses a lot of family time. This is not about the work our fire personnel perform, nor the sacrifices they make, it's about spending money that isn't needed to be spent. As soon as that petition comes around, there will be a lot of signatures to remove the mill levy.

Firemen aren't the only people who get called out to work during holidays, birthdays, etc. When the power goes off, linemen get called, a traffic accident, Troopers, Police, and Sheriff officers get called, broken water or gas lines City and natural gas employees get the call. And they work until the job/problem etc. is fixed. It doesn't matter; people come in to help their fellow community members. Linemen spit in the face of death everyday, along with law enforcement, gas and water employees, tow truck drivers, etc. The problem isn't the personnel, it is the problem with having a training tower for over a million dollars, or using one 20 minutes away. With all the money invested in the beautification of the hospital and college, why would we want a training tower there. Let's just use the facilities in Hayden. We didn't have a problem sending our good firemen to the Powder Wash for a fire. Seems like 20 minutes away isn't very far to travel back to Craig in comparison.

Let's not confuse the issue with facts. Getting clarification keeps all of us informed of what needs to be done.

Craig Fire Board – thank you so much for the response. The lingering questions is how often the Hayden training tower has been used in the past years? Is volunteer fire training somewhat universal in Colorado? Thanks again for answering the question. I am trying to be informed.

Dougs – CDP's cartoon is already across the internet - I saw the sign which asks all of us to be informed. You would think someone from our Fire Department would be happy to answer the questions being asked here. This is a good example of why each mill levy should have a sunrise and sunset so we don't have these types of situations where the will of the people is being ignored.

Dougs — please answer here so everyone can see the answers. We have other Fire Departments reading these comments and I know others would appreciate the response to my questions.
    Thanks.

Sometimes in Moffat County having a discussion is like having a battle of wits with an unarmed person. I still haven't gotten an answer to the last time our fire department trained in Hayden. After all the money spent on the hospital (totals 104Million after the mortgage and interest is paid in full) and our beautiful college, why would we want an ugly building there. Too sad.

When was the last time the firefighters used the Hayden training facility? Did everyone attend at one time? Or did they schedule it so everyone got training but at different times? Thanks for any insight to my questions. Also, I don't perceive any of the questions being asked as anything negative to our firefighters.
