“It is strategic — it is how can we act as a local government to react to those issues facing our community now and those we anticipate that will come,” she said.
I am not too sure why the commissioners' meetings are held in the a.m. but would like to see that change. If the commissioners truly want to act as a local government, community input and invovlement is critical. The reason the commissioners are sitting in the position they are is due simply to their constituents. In order to achieve more community involvement and have input from community members regarding current and anticipated issues, I would like to suggest changing the meetings to the evening. If nothing else, try it for a month or two and see if it makes a difference in community attendance.
Just to avoid any confusion, I want to clarify the meeting is on Monday, March 28, not on March 26th as stated in the paper.
Fact: November 2011 - 3 school board seats become open due to term limits. Please feel free to step up and get your name in the running!
Unfortunately, it's true that the Varsity squad lost on Friday to Union but the JV squad soundly defeated Union on Friday. Varsity went on to win their two games on Saturday as did the JV! Good job lady bulldogs!!!
"Moreover, Jones said the committee might foster an idea not previously considered by the council."
I thought the reason the mayor did not allow public comment at the council meeting was because they had already heard all suggestions, ideas. etc. Anyone else confused or is it just me?
Congratulations Kelsey!!!! What an exciting and well-deserved opportunity. The Snyder family wishes you the best of luck!
I do not personally know these young men but just want to say "Thank You and God bless you" to both Paul and Devon for your service to our country! It is truly appreciated.
Just to let you know that we did not have a meeting July 29th. Our last meeting was in June and our next scheduled meeting is August 26th. The minutes from the June meeting will be read and approved at that time. Again, thanks for taking the time to read the minutes and be informed regarding our school district and its happenings.
Trish Snyder, BOE Secretary
Mr. Barbosa, the board meeting minutes are not approved until the following month's board meeting (i.e., May 27th minutes will be approved at the June 24th meeting). The June 10th meeting was a special meeting, not a regularly scheduled meeting. Therefore, we did not approve minutes from the prior meeting. Until the minutes are approved by the BOE, they are not posted on our website. I hope this clears up your questions. Thank you for taking the time to stay updated on the happenings in our district and at our board meetings. Sincerely, Trish Snyder, BOE Secretary
Great season girls!! What a wonderful experience this has been for my daughter, Tori. I thank Cathy Copeland, her coach, Harry Tripp, varsity coach and Erica Tripp, team mom, who kept everything running smoothly!!!! When Harry said he wanted them to be a family - that is exactly what they did! My 4 children have been involved in sports since kindergarten and I have NEVER seen the level of comradarie and support that this team exhibited. Tori learned a great deal and had a blast while doing it. I could not have asked for more. Thank you again to Cathy, Harry and Erica - your time, energy and efforts are truly appreciated!
