Managing medications is a tough job for everyone. As a pharmacist, I have tried to help my visually impaired patients find the right tools to enable them to improve compliance. For many the ordinary cell phone can serve as an audible medication reminder device. There are automated reminder services available that send phone messages to any phone - cell or land line. And for smart phone users with data capability, there are automated text or email messages that can be very helpful.
Google “medication reminders” and you will find there are many options. FYI- VA case managers have actually purchased PDAs and smart phones to use with OnTimeRx software for TBI patients who also have memory problems that play havoc with compliance.
