Two words - recreational marijuana.
Keep in mind that the maintenance crew at the cemetery will remove anything that makes it difficult for them to mow, remove snow, or upkeep the cemetery. It could just be as simple as that. It's happened to us too, but when we checked with the cemetery, this is what we were told.
Sorry guys, the State of Colorado saw right through your lies about Marijuana. Colorado will be known as a State who stood up and chose Freedom, not the marijuana state. You guys should be glad - You can now worry about bigger and better things than Marijuana - As you pointed out yourselves, marijuana is simple, and is dangerous in no way at all, so why fight it? The people have spoken, and now it's time for you all to re-evaluate your stance on Marijuana. It's here to stay, like it or not.
I don't really see this as an attack on nightclubs at all - I think that Craig would actually benefit from a high class, modern, professional club or bar, regardless of my opinion of alcohol or bars (I wouldn't mind in the least if they ALL got closed). My personal problem with this club, is the owner, and his actions. Alcohol KILLS, and if he is willing to blatantly lie to obtain the right to sell it, who is to say he will not blatantly break laws as well and deal his poison to whomever he sees fit? And this is not even taking into account the sheer idiocy required to lie on a background check in the first place - They actually check the background checks, surprisingly enough. Or the fact that the state had to take this deadbeat dads drivers license away to force him to support his own children. This guy should reap what he sowed, and he should lose every penny he invested towards it. Perhaps if he had put the cash that he spent setting the place up towards his child support, he would not have had to lie in the first place. I bet the couple hundred bucks he prematurely spent painting a Horse with a jockey on it's back (Huh? Tarangos Horse Track?) on the front window would have bought his children some nice things.
How can you blatantly lie about something in an application, and then have the ability to turn around and instantly reapply? That sounds like garbage to me. He made the choice to LIE on his application, and he should be punished for doing so by not allowing him to open his business. If you did the same thing on an application to become a gaming or gambling employee, and were caught lying, not only would you get denied, but they would more than likely file fraud charges against you. Enough with the booze, deny him, and suggest he turn it into a childrens play area. Because really, that's what Craig NEEDS. More stuff for the kids, and a hell of a lot less liquor.
I had Mr. Hildebrandt as a teacher in Middle School, and he was an amazing guy - I think at the time, his daughter was still very young (3, 4 years old) and very sick, and you could never, ever tell when Mr Hildebrandt was at school. Even through all that heartbreak and uncertainty, he still managed to be a supportive, fun, caring teacher. And according to this article, he's not the only one - His whole family seems pretty dang amazing. I will think about Katelynn often, and I wish you guys the absolute best with the future.
Is it just me, or does it seem like there are more articles about our police force screwing up, than there are articles about criminals screwing up? Just imagine if an inmate like Mr. Jerod Bays had gotten a hold of that weapon........It had the possibility to create a literal blood bath. Absolutly ridiculous. I'm curious why his gun was removed from his holdster inside a bathroom accessible to inmates in the first place - Secondly, how in the WORLD do you foget to grab a loaded GUN? Perhaps he is developing Alzheimers in his age....maybe he's just getting too old to serve the public safely. What if he came into the Kum and Go bathroom, and your child went in next and found the gun, instead of an adult who knew the danger of a firearm.....I may be pushing it with that hypothetical, but it's still outright gross negligence on the chiefs part. Replace 'em all.
Plenty of people do not ever get arrested for domestic violence. Or even arrested at all. You say we all do wrong from time to time, like each and every one of us has found ourselves in handcuffs at one point. I've never been arrested. Nor has a single member of my family. Our closets are full of old jackets and toys, no skeletons in there anywhere. If you don't mind that an officer of the law was arrested violating the very law he is then expected to uphold the next day, then good on ya. You may have your corruption and "Mistakes". I DEMAND an honorable, ethical, upstanding police force. As for why the community doesn't get all in a huffy over "others that get away with serious abuse an not charged at all" well, those don't usually show up on the front page of the paper. Those don't ususally get an Editorial from the Daily Press. Those people don't usually take oaths to uphold the law, and not break it. That's why.
And that, needstoknow, is exactly what is wrong with America today - Get arrested for domestic violence, an obvious ethics violation, lose your job, then sue the The Department because they fired you for it?? What? That's ludicrous. He is being held accountable for HIS actions. After the multiple black eyes the police department has suffered these past few years, they had an OBLIGATION to deal with this quickly and effectively so as to not diminish the already dwindling public opionion of our police department. He may have done the wrong thing at the wrong time and got a more severe punishment because of past actions by other PD members, but the fact remains - HE is the one who was arrested, and HE must be held accountable. Kudos to the CPD on this quick and decisive action.
This guy couldn't even show enough restraint not to physically abuse the person he is supposed to love and cherish the most in his life, his own wife, yet he is somehow trusted with a gun and badge? What if he lost it like this on a random citizen who said the wrong thing to him? Or a criminal he is arresting for that matter - Who's to say he would not just lose it and beat or kill an iccocent person? If the CPD wishes to regain ANY sort of reputation, get this guy outta the police force, and back into the trailer park where he and his awesome mustache belong. For such a small force, there sure is a whole lot of stuff like this in the paper, and often. It's time to ACT and quit with the wrist slapping.
