Question of the week
News this week showed snowpack in the Yampa River basin has reached 94 percent of median for the date. Do you think Moffat County is out of the woods as far as drought concerns?

Ah, Dr. Hughes and Dr. Womble,
That is so cute of you to do as Daddy Rohrich asked. He must be so pleased. Seriously though, wake up. You work for an absolutely terrible organization and everyone knows it. You made yourselves out to be complete fools. You did no one any favors. Except for your boss that needs to be kicked out of this town.

And TMH just got rid of another physician today. That makes 6 in the past year. Time for concern yet?

I agree with the above statements. Ours doctors recently left TMH, and we went to Steamboat. Unfortunately, the only way for our concerns to be heard is through lost revenue, which means taking our business away from our own local, tax supported hospital. The hospital board can't (or won't) act, the only media outlet in town won't risk upsetting their advertising income, and the TMH administration deny that there even is a problem.
So, we'll have to speak their language. Money. Take your business elsewhere, and maybe they'll pay attention before it's too late.

But hey, don't worry. The editorial board recently checked with George and Jennifer and it's “too soon for concern.” You've lost 4 physicians in 6 months, who all pointed their fingers at the administration. Not to mention all the other staff that has left for the same reason. Can't wait to see how bad it gets before it's time for concern.
Let's not hold our breath waiting for CDP to dig into this. TMH buys too much ad space for the paper to be anything near unbiased. As I write this, there is an ad next to me blinking “There's no place like TMH.” Thank God there's not, or we'd all be in trouble.

Bryce,
I can see that your heels are dug in, and adding my voice to those who disagree with you will make no difference. That said, I think bump_in_the_road summed it up best. You are devaluing the true product you sell. Advertising. Everything in media (print, radio, video, internet) is a medium for selling that advertising. You have now drastically decreased your audience, which has decreased your value as an advertising platform. I've advertised my business in the CDP previously so I know firsthand how much income that generates on a per ad basis.
Not that it'll make a difference, but I will not be paying for a subscription for online content nor will I continue advertising in the CDP.

Mr. Kinkaid,
Thanks for the invite, but I've already been to a few TMH Board meetings and have witnessed multiple people voice concerns to both George and members of the board. Nothing has changed. In fact, things seem to be worsening (continued loss of good employees leading to decreased quality of care, declining community trust, wasted tax dollars, etc.)
The board knows what they need to do without being told yet again. Question is, will they do it?

Mr. Kinkaid,
It would be awesome if you would devote the energy you are spending on this “we've lost our freedom” bologna to fixing the TMH board. Start local.

It is pathetic that people go so quickly to name calling because they have a different political opinion. She is sharing an educated opinion. You might have a different educated opinion, but that does not make the other side idiots. That is seriously pathetic. My guess is that those who insist on going the “idiot” route as their argument when it comes to politics, don't actually have an educated opinion.

But will they keep these “bright, friendly, knowledgeable doctors”( as well as other great TMH staff members)? Probably not.
