I encourage you to read again. It was stated the situation surfaces concerns for parents, read further … all parents. Obviously the comments are not directed toward the family due to the tremendous loss they have suffered but that of a wake up call for those who are fortunate enough to still have their children and if you take the time to absorb the comment, it is blatently clear it was in reply to previous comments.

No one is trying to make the family feel bad; or worse for that matter. In reality, the situation does bring up all the concerns expressed here which are very legitimate concerns, however, it seems that we always wait until something like this happens to take action… “re-active instead of pro-active”. Accountability, where does it lie? We are quite aware that hind sight is 20/20, however, we no longer live in they type of environment where we can take everyone at their word. Sad, but true. Some of us HAVE lost children but are still able function as normal human beings and make decisions and be accountable for those decisions we make because it is a must to survival and success. I believe it is the partents responsibility to know where their children are and if your children are unwilling to comply then the priviledge of being “out” should cease. Attitude reflects leadership and parents, , , ALL parents, need to take the time to know where their children are. What, parents should just let their children run wild and wait for the police to chase them down? No, that is an “illegal pass” if you will. If your children respect YOU, they respect your wishes, if they are defiant, they have no respect for you nor your words and that fault lies on the parent. Harsh, but REAL. I am not passing judgment, I am speaking from experience, most of my children are grown and I have a 19 year old at home. When she goes out, she STILL follows her old habits and takes the time to call to let me know she is alright. Respect is respect and AGAIN, Attitude reflects leadership… look at our country!

Use: I am from a small town; never have lived outside of Colorado and just “what” has that got to do with the price of tea in China???? When one exploits their private life and the life of their children in such a manner as Chris Currie, its an invitation for high levels of critisizm. If she can't take the heat then she needs to exit the kitchen! As for your “down-and-dirty” comment, no children their age should even know what that means. If dignity and respect are practiced at home then a more intelligent approach to problems or situations become more obvious to those raised in the respectful and dignified surrounding. If you or she are offended then perhaps you should result to ignoring the comments she is vulerable to on her own merit. Most comments are directed to the “mother” who, of her own choice, writes and publishes the articles about her children for everyone to see. Free will, freedom of speech and opinion prompt the readers to reply therefore “hoping to God that ol' Norman is looking the other way” is obtuse.

When she first started her column about her children (like no one else has any) I thought it would be a temporary thing. How incorrect was I? Then I thought someday she'll finally grasp the concept that no one really cares and that people are really tired and nausiated of hearing about or seeing articles in the paper about her children! Where she gets her information or ideas is beyond me, however, I wouldn't be surprised if some or most of the content comes from another website. Good work misterkindbuds!

Some of the statements here disturb me. The last time I checked the law, you must be a citizen to vote. I have been to Mexico about 14 times; have never been to a resort there but to the “real” Mexico where I've seen houses with dirt floors and no electricity and wooden windows. I fully understand why Mexican Nationals want to come to this country, however, for them to come here and EXPECT us to help them “live here better” is absolutely insane! They already live here better on the dime of the American Citizen. I almost think it would be easier or better if we, as American Citizens go to Mexico, denounce our citizenship in the states and then come back so we may enjoy the many benefits the Mexican Nationals enjoy at no expense of their own! For example: they go the hospitals and register as indigents and receive health care at little or no cost to themselves, they have babies here and we pay for them and as they report to Medicaid or medicare they are not married and don't know who the father of their baby[s] are, they then get food stamps, medicaid and WIC! They sign up for every free thing there is whether they need it or not. Example? Toys for tots, holiday baskets for Thanksgiving and Christmas and they usually lie by reporting their families are bigger than actual to get more free food! Most of these people drive newer vehicles than you or I do! Live Better? Here's a concept . . employment… seek it … and make your way like the rest of the citizens. Immigration form is a crock, they'll keep coming illegally as long as we have a trade agreement. I dare any of you to go to Mexico and apply for all the benefits they receive here. You'll be laughed at and deported at your own expense or you can always go to jail and pay to get out and pay your way back to the states. By the way? They don't fly our American flag in Mexico, they don't celebrate our American Holidays in Mexico and they DONT speak English (except at border cities and resorts and then its limited), they expect the Americans that go to their country to speak Spanish! I say if they want immigration form lets even out the stakes and give Americans in Mexico what we give Mexicans in America FIRST! (by the way? i am mexican)
