The Drug War is a joke and you all know it. Arresting pot smokers?? This is a sad time in this country for many reasons.
Someday those that follow like sheep will be eaten by the wolves.
Local task forces like ACET are given too much reign over American lives. FYI, first prosecutions of the patriot aCT, a terrorism bill, were used on American citizens, for NON-terrorist activity.
Im not getn all wacko on anyone. You tell me though what is the bigger problem in this town.
The alcohol abuse?
Meth use?
Illegal Aliens?
Those dastardly pot smokers?
Start reading and thinking for yourselves. ACET is not what it presents itself as. and shame one them, and every other Fully automatic toting gestapo, ruining lives instead of fixing them.

“…a chunk of the dollar figure attached to last year's drug seizures stemmed from seizing about 51 marijuana plants, each plant capable of producing 6 ounces to 1 pound of marijuana. The street value of those plants is anywhere from $110,000 to $300,000, Wiggins said.
At one point in the task force's history, methamphetamine distribution was the main priority…”

WOW. Just wow. Once again, i ask the task force and anyone to prove marijuana's harm vs. methamphetamine. And leave the whole gateway drug out, thats just some overplayed and over touched BS from the early years of the drug war. jail for pot use???? And yet METH and COKE are left on the backburner, and the task force even likes to sell out marijuana users for harsher sentences than meth or coke users, cause the harsher users choose to be a confidential informants. Look at the price of plants the DEA has marked them for… Thats where its all at, proving that you can make the money and then you get the funding you need for whatever. They could care less about “Just the meth problem” which is the worst problem facing this country.
Its just easier for any Task force, DEA, what not, to go after peaceful potsmokers because there are so many of them out there. If IT was soooo dangerous, I think the hippy fathers and mothers would have fallen to “THAT” epidemic that is so missing. Think about this when you elect officials this year. They Shove it all under the carpet still, and with mis truth and fear mongering. They dont tell or even think of telling what NEEDS to happen ion the drug war or tell the truth in the drug war, because its just too expensive too. Its a treatment system we need as a society and not a $14Billion dollar a year problem shoved under the rug. Thats whats spent fighting drugs, mostly though ad campaigns that now are being proven, including DARE, that they contribute more to youth drug use than anything. Because they bring in things that some times some would never see of or hear of. This BS needs to end.
excuse from them: Because pot is still illegal.

Pike does most of the time take no outside input, just like alot of this council. Ive seen people try and get shunned for not being part of the norm, or the good ol boys.
They did pass around a list of people that Craig might want, but just like alot of other things this was based on good ol times.
I think people are just wanting a NEW artists. Dont care who, just a decent NEWer artist.
Pike decided by money and his own. Hes proven before to take the helm and steer it with no help. Hell things get done better sometimes and faster that way. Its just ALOT in this town needs to change and it is, thanks to this lovely growth. Now i hope some dont ruin that, like they tried to ruin progress with walmart.

The middle of town, aint gonna be the middle of town much longer, and to get off the subject.
Do you even know how much time effort and money, not to mention pain and strife taken away from families of people who dont belong in hard prison, that are taken care of and have a successful stint at CAPS.
This community can open its arms to those who are very well needy, but you cant be too needy and considered scum to save for some in this town. Sad.
Sorry to thread jack, back to the topic at hand.
Fire, FIre, Fire. j/k. Whoever lit this needs to be caught and work for that mall owner and companies destroyed for the rest of his/her life. Thats better than us paying for him to go to jail.

You are absolutely 100 percent wrong my friend. A news media service CANNOT be the judge and jury in any situation. Its called being held LIABLE, or Defamation. Until proven guilty everyone, i mean everyone is an “alleged” to commit the crime.
This is America people, and though it doesnt seem so, and sometimes we got a messed up way of showing it but its….. Innocent until proven guilty. Its the American way. Dont like it, Head to Saudi Arabia.
The police arrests are a matter of public record and are being done as a service to the people of craig. If you want to know more about a case or an arrest. it is your duty to do the legwork and march down to the county court and get the info on the arrest and charges for yourself. It may seem sad to you, but the open information act is part of what makes this country as great and free as it is.
I think ive seen the highest of highest regarded in our community that break the law in craig, listed in this blotter. Its fair, and sadly its life. Deal with it. Or lobby to change it with congress.

The problem is this town is run by old foggies, not just those in office. Our commissioners are decent in protecting our main sources of revenue but…. Craig is a town of People who don't want to see progress and cringe at the idea that there is another way of life they are used to living, even though they could still live it. They just don't want you to have a part of it. They REFUSE to take outside input, and i don't mean looking to your family and friends around town, to design these entertainment shows. Their is a reason why there are production companies out there for hire for situations like this. But we are a ways off from that in Craig. Not to mention the mayor took this as his “BABY”. Who did you expect to play?!?!?!, im kinda surprised with the band they got.
BTW. Van Halen would be ALOT, alot more than 75 G's for a show. van halen in craig??? Never, more craigite rumors. They can barley play sold out arena without being guaranteed separate dressing rooms so they dont kill each other (lol), and back to it, much less play Craig. We are talking in the 100-300,000 dollar range for one of these bands to come to an unknown area to play a show. Here is an example, Linkin Park, thats a popular band with alot of semi-old and young fans. They would EASILY charge over 100 Grand to play a night here.
Good riddance Mayor Jones, and Police Chief Walt Vanetta. Your Good 'Ol Boy, Cowboy way will be gone soon enough. The people will decide that. Same with ASSET. (sic) This aint the wild west anymore.
