I stand corrected, if the bear had been previously tagged then I don't mind their decision as much. I got the impression from the first part of the story that they prematurely gave up on tranquilizing the animal.

I missed the portion of the story about the animal previously being tagged (in my rush to judgement). Apologies.

In the last week officials in Denver and Boulder both successfully tranquilized bears and moved them out of the city...

But not in Craig. Nope, these hillbilly Parks & Wildlife guys can't do their jobs properly, so they figure why not just kill the thing? And how about supplying the local paper with a couple of ignorant quotes to boot? People get outraged about paying politicians for incompetence - how about these morons collecting a check on the taxpayer's dime? Total incompetence.

Suppose hypothetically the doctor does write prescriptions freely (that's the impression I'm getting from the comment section).

We live in a free country - people ought to be able to choose what they put in their own bodies. This is nothing more than persecution and big brother interference with outdated and antiquated drug laws. Let the man practice in peace, we've got bigger problems to deal with in Washington.

@footballmom - I am from Craig, mam... But luckily I was not swallowed up by the ignorant redneck group think that is so endemic to the community.

I'm not giving a ringing endorsement to Obama by any means. In fact, I'll probably vote (write-in) Ron Paul because I'm not a huge fan of either candidate. But look at the idiotic comments that preceded me. There are a million policy disagreements that are very real - but people would rather focus on his middle name and paint him as anti-American, pro-terrorist. Which just proves how little these people know about anything.

Brian - get a clue. No one is discriminating based solely on age - this woman has two accidents behind the wheel of the bus. Common sense tells us she is not qualified to continue on the job, regardless of age, race or gender.

Discussing national politics in Craig is like reading college astrophysics to a 2 year old. It's a pointless exercise as they are incapable of understanding.

These guys are to be commended for putting their money where their mouth is and trying to come up with a real solution to a problem.

So many people can complain about the state of athletics, or budget cuts - here is an opportunity to make a real difference. This is how you strengthen a community. Hats off to all involved.
