Laura Mazade has been a copy editor at the <cite>Steamboat Pilot & Today </cite>since August 2009. Laura grew up in Muskegon, Mich., where she spent a lot of time enjoying Lake Michigan by sailing, kayaking and lounging on the beach. She has a Bachelor of Arts degree in journalism from Grand Valley State University in Michigan. While at Grand Valley, she worked as a copy editor, news writer and special sections editor at the student newspaper, the<cite> Grand Valley Lanthorn</cite>. After graduating in April 2008, she interned on the copy desk for the <cite>Kalamazoo Gazette</cite> in Michigan and then worked for the <cite>Bowling Green Daily News </cite>in Kentucky in 2008 and 2009. Since visiting Colorado three years ago, Laura knew she wanted to live in the mountains. She is excited to enjoy the Steamboat Springs seasons by hiking with her dog, camping, skiing and biking around town.
