I think this is absolutely ridiculous. There are people that do not want guns in there house and some that are against guns all together. Its called freedom of choice! I think that if someone wants a gun then by all means go get one, just be sure to secure it properly. But to force someone to own a gun? Really!? And how many heads of households have felonies? That ordinance would force hundreds of felons to violate the law. I will not go to prison just to follow some ridiculous city ordinance. For crying out loud people...Think about what your saying before you say something to embarass yourselves!

I think if you read the text of the ordinance, you would find that there are allowances made for those that don't believe in firearms, have criminal records or are mentally incabable of owning or using a firearm. In my mind if these exclusions are taken into consideration, then it does allow for everyones individual freedoms while sending a very strong message to other law makers. Like our two right grabbing US Senators that want to give away our firearms rights, our jobs and our way of life, just so they can kiss up to our so called president that wants to do the same. You can also put our US Representative in that mix of no good politicians. I sent him a typed letter with over 400 signatures attached to it and did not even recieve a reply. He does not represent me you or anyone in this part of the state. He represents the liberal eastern slopers that think electricity comes magically out of the ground, and beef is found in a package in the store.

Hey fatguy Thank you for illustrating so well what's wrong with our society. Please read the proposal before making your ignorant comments about it. If you had read said proposal you would know that there are exemptions to it. Those include felons, those unable to afford a firearm, religious reasons, and those who CHOOSE NOT to own a firearm for personal or any other reason. In the future, please at least have read what you so vehemently disagree with. Also, please refresh your knowledge of the spellings of there, their and they're and your and you're.

so you guys think it is okay to tell people that they are required to own a fire arm in there homes? I agree with you brittany.. society is going in the toilet. I hope you enjoy the ride. And I will tell you all something, I dont run down to the courthouse every day to read what kind of ordinance is going in front of the board. I only know whats printed in this rag paper. So if I dont know all the detail why dont you talk to the guy who wrote it up. And if all those exemptions are in that thing , then nothing really changes does it? I dont believe anyone should be allowed to propose any ordinance that conflics with anyones right to choose. Tell your daddy that.
