Do you think that Moffat County elected officials should have their term limits extended from two terms to three. That means an extra four years in office if elected for a third term?

It depends on the position being voted on, you are lumping the question together on all positions, break it down like the ballot will and you may get a diffrent answer.

Agreed. Lumping it together is too general and is not a good reflection on the point trying to be made, hence the large margin of "no". When term limit questions like this are posed, one group of elected good ol' boys pops into my head and I instantly wince to the thought of "more of the same". Some are worthy and have either made it better or at least more tolerable.....others, not so much.

Ok that makes sense as to why all the no votes. How about no term limits for all the county positions like assessor, clerk and recorder, sheriff, coroner but keep the county commissioners term limited. Heck with the characters we have been getting lately maybe limit those guys to one term.

I would think that GREAT AMERICANS would want a more frequent term so just incase the LOW INFORMATION voters accidently vote in a reckless, emotional LIBERAL, that the frequency would repair itself.....Hopefully.

i have always thought term limits on local elected officials were stupid. we have an election every 4 years, term limits say we are not smart enough to vote a poor elected official out of office.

take your sheriff for example, do we have a good one, yep! we do. so why on earth would we want to lose him in 8 short years ? if he is a good man why not keep him as long as we want to ?

if you work at the power plant and make a good living for your family, how would you like it if they came to you in 8 years and said "too bad, your doing a swell job, but we have limits and you have to go work in a gas station now" hmm, that somehow don't sound as good, huh ?

if you have good help, keep them as long as you can, if you have poor help, well, then fire them. but never try and tell voters they are not smart enough to make a decision. thats what king obama thinks, don't join him.

Agree with the first paragraph of post from cmawest. If this goes on the ballot office by office it could end up a disaster. Imagine extending the term limit to three for the clerk and assessor, but not the treasurer. Get rid of the term limits and vote responsibly and intelligently, if that is even possible.
