Just dealing with the cold in general is what I don't like. That probably takes in all the issues above.

At least we can handle the cold. The babies elsewhere cry and stay home in, Craig it is another day.

11 people voted in the “other” category and only three posts….hmmm.
I don't see the cold at any temperature to be a challenge. If you can't handle sub-zero weather, move to Florida or SoCal. Think of those living in Alaska where -50 is a normal day, we have it pretty easy here. Adding an “I like the cold” category might have garnered a few votes. Challenging…..no, not hardly.

While cold temperatures are common in this area, the safety factors - of people (exposure), pipes, roads, vehicles (clear windows), etc. - need to be considered. Prevention is great, but that takes some conscious effort, not just muddling along.

Heat tape yeh, but sometimes they quit working at the most inconveniant time. And yeh, I have settler tags so I have been here awhile….planning ahead is a must around here. sometimes starting your vehicle in the middle of the night if you don't have a tank heater helps.
