May I suggest those involved go check out the Rec Center in Rawlins, Wy.

Definately way over due. A YMCA type center that is affordable for all will help support efforts towards a fit America - the places we have now are too expensive and undersized to support a community the size of Craig.

With our community growing the way it is...this idea is a wonderful one. Our pool complex is over populated in the summers, our bowling alley is often times full, parks are filled up with city activities most of the summer... The community's places to 'hang out' are getting smaller and smaller. Perhaps a rec center would promote a more fit communtiy as well. A rec center that could offer a wide variety of things would be great! The problem I see is ... with building prices... you have to off set the price of the construction in the costs of attending and use of the facility. Cost of living isn't going down, and wages are not going up...(have you looked at gas prices). That might be a battle but it's one worth fighting. Perhaps grants and non-profit research is the way to go?

i think it would be good for the community a place for kids to have fun on a saturday afternoon and a place where people can meet and hold meetings and have a great time with the family.
