Well duh??….What job wouldn't replace you if you were a no-call no-show?? What kind of a role model is he to be around our kids? Good riddance is what i say.

I would like to know the reason Rick Penner missed work. I do not condone or agree in any way short of somemething such as of an accident and being hurt. However in today's day and age and all the cellphones I cannot see how he could just disappear and not notify anyone. Even If he was in the hospital or something he could have had a family member notify the school district. with having said that I do not see any reason for Mr Penner's keep his job. If anyone else had done that for whatever the reasons they would have to face the outcome. If someonewas in the military they would be considered AWOL (absent without leave) and depending whether he was in a “war” situation such as IRAQ and found not to be a POW o severly wounded they could be punished as deserter, they could be put in prison, fined part of their paycheck and demoted some pay grades and given a Dishonorable discharge. all I can ask is “does the punishment fit the crime?

They didn't dismiss him until after the cops made contact and determined he was fine. Then he still didn't make an attempt to contact the school board. That sounds to me like he's quit and needs replaced.

They didn't dismiss him. He quit. That's what you call it when you don't show up for work and don't call. Of course, they had to make it official. He had, I suppose, signed a contract, and since he wasn't considerate enough to call or notify the school district of his intentions, they had to dismiss him. It's good to know that someone of his ilk is not going to be influencing our school kids. What a joke of integrity he is.
