2011 Moffat County Mud Runs August 1, 2011
Tom Derr, of Rawlins, Wyo., tears through the mud Saturday in his 1931 Chevy 5-Window Coupe. Derr won first place in the pro-stock class during the 2011 Moffat County Mud Runs at Wyman Museum. The event featured 55 drivers competing in nine classes. About 200 spectators attended.

Before the start of a new race, event official Darric Smith, of Craig, steps from behind “Chevy Mother” on Saturday after attaching a cable to the tow hitch. Each vehicle dragged a long tow cable through the mud pits during the 2011 Moffat County Mud Runs at Wyman Museum. If the vehicles got stuck, the tow cable was already attached to ease recovery. The truck, a 1979 Chevy stepside, is owned and driven by Rifle resident Heather Tucksen.
Event official John Forquer, of Craig, uses a four-wheeler Saturday to remove a tow cable from the mud pits during the 2011 Moffat County Mud Runs at Wyman Museum. Tow cables were removed from vehicles that successfully crossed the mud pit, then hauled back through the mud for the next race.
