Communities at Work: Shedding some winter weight March 20, 2010
With snow melting and temperatures rising, this edition of Communities at Work focuses on places for area residents to shed some of their winter weight. Trapper Health Club, 261 Commerce St., offers racquetball and a basketball hoop on top of their selection of free weights, machines and a cardiovascular equipment. Holistic Health & Fitness, 420 Breeze St., also has a variety of machines and weights along with an octagon cage and boxing training accommodations. Zumba Fitness, 29 W. Victory Way, uses music to make working out fun with dance aerobics.
Erin Lueck uses an elliptical machine Wednesday for a cardiovascular workout at Trapper Health Club. Lueck said she works out four days a week at the club.
Christalin Thompson leads a fitness class Tuesday at her studio, Zumba Fitness, on Victory Way. Thompson, who had a baby four weeks ago, opened the studio in May 2009 and enjoys providing the Craig community with dance aerobics to rhythmic Latin music.
John Pedroncelli does a quadriceps exercise Wednesday at Holistic Health & Fitness. Many people prefer working out on machines rather than free weights and consider it safer and easier.
