Communities at Work: A natural approach September 26, 2009
Karen D. Gilroy believes in taking a more holistic approach to helping the body. After earning a master's degree in holistic health from the American Institute of Holistic Theology, the Hayden resident has set up shop at the Natural Heath Center, 450 Center St., which shares her philosophy of body and mind health with Craig residents. "She cares about people," Sabrina Bowersox said about Gilroy. Bowersox is a friend and patient of Gilroy, and Thursday she received a reflexology session from the practitioner. Gilroy also teaches classes on food combining, which is the practice of eating meals that work in harmony with the digestive tract. Gilroy teaches food combining in Steamboat Springs, Hayden and Craig, and her next class will be Oct 3 at the Depot Art Center in Steamboat. To reach Gilroy, call 970-819-5918 or e-mail gilroyapp@earthlink.net.
