Communities at Work: New chefs in town September 19, 2009
Walking into Yummies Catering kitchen is quite an experience. Co-owners Carrie Borman and Barbara Burnett seem like they've been working together for ages, and the neighbors share a love of cooking. Both come from long lines of good cooks, they said. In the kitchen, they buzz around chopping, baking and making bread, testing recipes for their new business. A few finished calzones sit on the counter while Barbara Burnett rolls out more dough for the next round. Burnett said she enjoys the reaction she gets from people when they order from Yummies Catering. "If you know people like it and request it, you just feel good," she said.
