Communities at Work for Sept. 5, 2009 September 5, 2009
The old fashioned way It's a Tuesday afternoon, and mechanics are hard at work at Chapman Automotive Service Center in Craig. Daniel Wilkinson is performing general maintenance on a customer's car while Jaime Sandoval is cleaning the car's window. "We still wash windows the old way," owner J.B. Chapman said. That's something Sandoval echoes as he uses newspaper to clean the window. "That's just the way we do it," he said. Chapman's father, Carl, started the business in 1985. His son took over the business in 2001, and he's kept the small-town friendly atmosphere that the business is known for. The focus on family extends to employees, as well. "We've got a super team here," Chapman said. "There isn't any other place in the world I'd rather be."
