Friendly faces and cold beer Clyde Hettinger, owner of Dark Horse Discount Liquor, said everybody everywhere sells Budweiser, Coors and Miller, but it takes exceptional customer service and the coldest beer in town to stand out. Hettinger opened Dark Horse in April 1997, and about four years later, he came across an innovative idea he claims makes his beer six or seven degrees colder than any other liquor store around. Without giving away any secrets, he said a storage cooler in the back of the store is important to keeping up with the busy days, but the difference is made in the actual cooler your grab your six-pack from. Whether you're after a bottle of wine, liquor or a cold beer, Dark Horse Discount Liquor offers all of the above, friendly service and conversation at 1520 W. Victory Way.
