Bears Ears Sportsman's Club Cowboy Action Shoot May 25, 2009
Gerri "Jinglebob Gerri" Kruse, of Denver, walks off stage after competing Sunday in the Bears Ears Sportsman's Club Cowboy Action Shoot. Shooters stepped to the line at the Bears Ears Shooting Range in various categories including Classic Cowgirl, B Western and Buckaroos. Each category of shooter was required to be dressed accordingly.
A man who wished to be called "Doc Murdoch," of Grand Junction, looks for the next competitor Saturday at the Cowboy Action Shoot. Murdoch timed competitors during their trial using a hand-held device, which reset with each shot.
John Whitman, of Vernal, Utah, fires his 1966 Winchester during the Cowboy Action Shoot competition at the Bear Ears Shooting Range. Whitman, who used the handle "Dutch John," fired a variety of guns in the competition.
