Communities at Work: Guitar teacher schools students on musical 'art'
Tucked quietly behind a hair salon and down a flight of stairs, music is being made. It's a quiet, homey basement with pictures of guitars and guitar players covering the walls. "It's kind of got that '70s feel," Tracey Lynne Hart said. But, that just adds to the musical spirit, she said. At Hart's guitar studio, players of every age learn all types of guitar from Hart, who has been teaching part time for the past 16 years. When Hart teaches, she is serious about the music, but she also never forgets to have a little fun with it. She said guitar playing has set patterns and forms, but also said, "It's an art, and you can color outside the lines."
Hart hosted a guitar recital April 18 for her students at the Center of Craig. Students performed a variety of songs from 1967-69, and they dressed for the time period.
