Communities at Work: Serendipitous, from scratch January 3, 2009
It's 4 a.m., and even though there are three hours before sunlight, Kassie Dilldine is starting her day. Dilldine wears many hats at Serendipity, located at 576 Yampa Ave., but she starts so early because she bakes and makes breakfast for the business. For seven to eight hours a day, six days a week, she can be found making all things breakfast-related from scratch.
Kassie Dilldine prepares cinnamon rolls early Wednesday morning at Serendipity. "Seeing how it turns out," she said, is probably her favorite thing about baking. "It's exciting to make something that looks good and tastes good, as well."
Dilldine places some freshly baked brownies in the case. The large portions are common to the food served at Serendipity, she said.
