Black Dogs in a white house August 29, 2009
The white house at 464 Ranney St. looks like any other. The sign out front, however, hints at what the eye cannot see. It reads Black Dog Cycles. The business started five years ago and has been slowly growing. What started as two friends working on motorcycles in a garage has expanded to include servicing many motorized vehicles. Still, at its core, Black Dog remains two guys working in a garage, be it one that now sports a showroom. Tony Fandel and Mike Toovey work full-time day jobs but have a passion for Harleys and spend their nights and weekends working on them at their business. To reach Black Dog Cycles, stop by the garage or call 826-0293.
Mike Toovey removes the cover plate Wednesday on a customer's Harley Davidson motorcycle to look for a "sound" at Black Dog Cycles. Much of Black Dog Cycles' business is maintenance work on bikes.
Tony Fandel works on a motorcycle Wednesday at Black Dog Cycles. Fandel spends his days as a police officer for the Craig Police Department, but said he enjoys working on bikes in his free time.
