Communities at work: The hunting party August 22, 2009
For John Kelley, of Meeker, hunting is a passion that began when he was young and has carried over into his life today. He spends his days as a hunting guide, but he also travels the world hunting in search of game. He recently returned from Namibia on a hunting trip, and pictures from Australia, New Zealand and other points decorate his walls. He also owns Kelley's Gunsmithing, which he operates at his Meeker home. At his shop, he can produce anything from a simple muzzle break to building a custom gun from scratch. "Some guys like to work on precision engines," Kelley said about why he opened his shop, "I like working on real fine-precision guns." - Hans Hallgren
