Paving the way June 28, 2008
Something that might not always stick out on that summer drive is the work that goes into the thing that connects our country from coast to coast. Roads. Keeping roads in working order is a constant process, and this week Craig's First Street got a makeover. From Highway 13 to Ranney Street, First Street got a slick refacing that began Monday and ended Thursday.
The paver makes its way down First Street on Wednesday. As it moves, a truck feeds asphalt into the paver, which lays it.

As new asphalt is laid, crews test it.
Asphalt, a mixture of rock, sand and other ingredients, sits ready to be pressed onto the surface by the paver.
