Craig Electric Motor & Machine celebrates 26 years at local shop
Celebrating their 26th year in an unassuming shop on the north end of Craig, employees at Craig Electric Motor & Machine are hard at work. They are repairing large and small rotating equipment - primarily electric motors, generators, pumps and gearboxes for the power, mining and energy industries. For a small operation located in Craig, they attract business from Montana, New Mexico, Utah and Colorado. "We view ourselves as the problem-solving company," plant manager Larry Payne said, when asked what brought customers to the business. "Our customers recognize that and bring us more problems."
Jose Gonzalez uses a surge tester to check the wiring to determine whether it needs to be replaced.
