A paws-itive experience for dogs August 25, 2007
Vana McCoy is one of four owners of Paws-A-Tivily Pet Grooming at 2023 W. Victory Ave. in Craig. McCoy has been grooming at Paws since it opened nine years ago and has been grooming some of the same dogs for more than seven years. One such dog is Creek, who has been coming since she was a puppy six years ago. Now, Creek’s brother Gauge is coming along. “They get really used to being here, so the sounds don’t bother them,” McCoy said.
Vana McCoy trims Creek’s ear, a springer spaniel. On a busy day, McCoy will groom six or seven dogs.
Frosty, an American Eskimo, gets a bath. McCoy said that the trick is to wash their head last otherwise they will shake.
Gauge takes a nap while his brother, Creek, gets groomed.
Morgan, a rat terrier, gets a brush before her second cut. Every dog is cut twice, before their bath and after.
