A firefighter douses flames Thursday in a wooded area in north Loudy-Simpson Park. Craig Fire/Rescue received the call at 11:48 a.m. and responded with 15 firefighters, three engines and one tender, Fire Chief Bill Johnston said. As of Thursday afternoon, the blaze had consumed 5 acres. There were no injuries, and no structures were threatened.
