Bubba Ivers, a Moffat County High School junior, struggled in his first game on the mound, walking seven batters in a 15-3 loss to Emery in the opening game of the Montrose Tournament on Friday. Justin Folley, the MCHS varsity baseball head coach, said with such a young team early season woes are expected, but the Bulldogs are making strides in the right direction.
Daniel Brown, of Craig, putts on the eighth-hole green Friday at Yampa Valley Golf Course. Brown, the 2011 Men’s Club champion, said with the course opening two weeks earlier than normal, he is able to keep his game in shape as he prepares to defend his club title.
