Local residents look over their putts Thursday afternoon on the seventh green at Yampa Valley Golf Course, 2179 Highway 394. A mild winter coupled with recent sunny skies and warm temperatures have area residents looking for an early start to spring activities, and golfers are no exception. Head pro Jason Back said the course opened Monday for member play, several weeks earlier than last year. It opens to the public today and early season rates apply. Residents and nonresidents can walk 18 holes for $25.
