Pi Kappa Phi fraternity members riding on The Journey of Hope play a game of knockout Friday with children at the Boys & Girls Club of Northwest Colorado after arriving in Craig. The Journey of Hope is a 4,000-mile cycling trip across the country to raise money and awareness for people with disabilities. It is a part of Pi Kappa Phi’s nationwide philanthropy, Push America. The 30-member team of riders came to Craig on a 90-mile ride from Dinosaur, stopped at the Boys & Girls Club, and played in the gym with children before doing a bicycle safety presentation and reading a story. The riders also visited with clients from Horizons Specialized Services. Billy Baker, a rider from the University of Iowa in Iowa City, said he was excited to be in Colorado. “I’m excited we made it to Colorado. I’ve been out here probably 15 times in my life,” Baker said. “I’m looking forward to the rest of the ride through here and the mountains because I just love it out here.”
