Carwile served on the Craig City Council for six years before being elected to the mayor’s position in April 2011. “I like the municipal government, where the rubber meets the road,” he said. Carwile has lived in Moffat County since he came to the area in the mid-1970s to help build Tri-State Generation & Transmission’s Craig station. He is an outdoor enthusiast who enjoys rafting, cycling and other kinds of recreation, and he was drawn to the region by its “stunning outdoor environment,” he said.
