A Craig man who pleaded guilty to criminal attempt to commit second-degree assault was sentenced Thursday to two years in prison. Derik Scott, 24, pleaded guilty to the Class 5 felony charge earlier this month as part of a deal with the Fourteenth Judicial District Attorney’s Office.

A Craig resident charged with attempted murder appeared in Moffat County District Court Monday for an advisement hearing. Derik Leroy Scott, 24, of Craig, is charged in district court with criminal attempt of 2nd degree murder, a Class 3 felony; 2nd degree assault, a Class 4 felony; false imprisonment, a Class 5 felony; and two counts of violating a restraining order, domestic violence, child abuse, menacing, and violating conditions of a bail bond, all misdemeanors. Scott is currently in custody at Moffat County Jail. He is being held on $75,000 bond.
