Tucker Sterle, a Ridgeview Elementary School first-grader, reads an article he wrote in Friday’s Craig Daily Press during a Newspapers in Education field trip Friday morning to the Steamboat Pilot & Today in Steamboat Springs. A collaborative effort between the Daily Press and Moffat County School District, the program’s organizers teach young writers in first through fifth grades how to be a reporter and publish their stories about field trips they attend throughout the school year. This year’s theme was environmental issues. The final field trip of the year showcases different departments of a newspaper and the printing press.
