Craig Girl Scouts are paid a visit from Santa Claus on Saturday night before the start of the annual Parade of Lights. Kristi Shepherd, a Craig Lions Club member and parade chairwoman, told the girls Santa made a special trip to Craig for the event.

LaDeana Cook gets into the holiday spirit early while working at the Community Budget Center, 555 Yampa Ave. Cook, 47, is originally from Texas and has worked at the CBC for about eight years. She said she is already anticipating spending Christmas with her children and grandchild.
Alicia Nelson, a 2009 Moffat County High School graduate, competes during her junior cross-country season at Adams State College. Nelson finished second in the NCAA Division II women’s national championship race Nov. 19 in Spokane, Wash. She said her goal for her senior season is to take home the national title.
