The Northwest Colorado Chapter of Parrot Heads recently awarded two $1,000 scholarships to graduating Moffat County High School seniors. Kimberlynne Hill will be attending Brigham Young University and majoring in music performance, specifically flute performance. Jessica Matthews will be attending Colorado School of Mines and majoring in civil engineering with a minor in humanitarian engineering. Applicants were selected based on their love of music, respect for the environment, volunteerism or community activism, and academic achievement, as well as on an essay describing their post-secondary plans and/or career goals, and something special about themselves.
