This picture makes me wonder why pictures already taken by driver of the vehicle had to be removed from the camera/cell phone at the request of the highway patrol.

So really HOW MANY MORE PEOPLE HAVE TO DIE, before they actually do something about this road. and don't give me that crap about not enough funding. Stop spending our tax payers money for a new 11 million dollar bike path for yuppies in steamboat. Fix the damn roads and save lives! this is absolutely stupid of our state, our government. of EVERYBODY. WAKE UP PEOPLE!!

The picture didn't have to be removed, its private property that was NOT involved in any criminal activity therefore, the owner could have refused and if the officer demanded then he could have been in some hot water. The situation with the rocks falling has been happening for years, alot of them, without any productive, preventative measures. I believe they just "hope" everyone passing by will drive fast enough to actually miss getting hit/killed by the falling rocks. It's bad enough it happened to those who were involved, however, I'm thankful it wasn't a motor cycle w/driver. I hope the drivers of the vehicles sue CDOT for neglegance; their lack of resolve concerning those falling rocks is unexcuseable.... in my opinion, of course.

Wellwell, Lawspecialist is right!!, The state police are confiscating photos of rocks now?, is this a free country?, or is it suddenly facist or communist? Next time ask the officer for a warrant!, do not let them push you around. Anybody pushed around by the cops like that should sue, BIG TIME!

I could understand if it was a sensitive crime scene, or privacy issues, but , OOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO, now I get it, the crime is being committed by CDOT!!

The earthquake in Japan moved the earth 6 inches off its axis, any wonder this is happening? Many rocks fell in other canyons that day, the 2012 scenario could happen, every year something worse happens. THE LEAST WE COULD DO IS TRY TO MAKE IT SAFER, IF THE POWERS THAT BE WOULD GET THE CRAP OUT OF THEIR EARS!

Who was the original idiot who put the road where it is?, with eminant domain it could have been placed on the other side of the river.
