After a fantastic shooting night to open the Uintah Classic Tournament on Friday, the Moffat County High School girls varsity basketball team couldn’t replicate the performance in the first game Saturday. Going up against a big Wasatch High School team, the Bulldogs struggled to get the ball in the basket in the first half and couldn’t overcome a 10-point halftime deficit in a 45-37 loss. However, MCHS bounced back in the third and final game against Uintah High School with a 60-53 victory to go 2-1 to open the season. “It was a great weekend for our program,” head coach Matt Ray said. “In the first game we played phenomenal, and the next two we played well. “We played a good team in Wasatch and we were tired against Uintah, but we found a way to win one and keep playing hard.”
