Bubba Ivers prepares to deliver a pitch Saturday in the second game of a doubleheader against Delta High School at Craig Middle School. The Moffat County High School varsity baseball team split the day with the Western Slope League-leading Panthers with a 12-11 victory in game one and a 6-1 loss in game two. Ivers provided heroics at the plate to win the first game.

4 home runs propel MCHS baseball to split with WSL leader

Bubba Ivers trotted around the bases Saturday at Craig Middle School. As the Moffat County High School sophomore came into home plate, his teammates and coaches were there to congratulate him. Ivers’ walk-off, solo home run in the bottom of the eighth inning handed Western Slope League rival Delta High School its first league loss and the Bulldogs a 12-11 victory in the first game of a doubleheader.
