Hunter Seim helps his daughter, Amelia, 5, read a book Monday in her new kindergarten classroom at Sunset Elementary School. While older grade levels had their first day of school Monday, kindergartners participated in Family Connection, where the students and parents worked on activities to get them familiar with the classroom. Their first full day was Tuesday.
