Dave DeRose, right, owner of Masterworks Mechanical Inc., pledged support recently to Colorado Northwestern Community College President John Boyd toward the construction of a new Craig Campus Career and Technical Center. The center will consist of a 17,000-square-foot building that will house the Craig Campus' energy-related programs. "I realize the impact a community college can have on all aspects of a city," DeRose said. "CNCC has been able to play a great role in the development of Craig and the surrounding area, and I believe the future is very bright."
Pastor Jason Haskell, center left, and his wife, Tracey, use ceremonial golden shovels Sunday to signify the ground breaking for the New Creation Church building. The new church will be at 520 Westridge Road in the Ridgeview subdivision west of state Highway 13. Haskell said trucks have been moving dirt at the site for the past week, and crews expect to start pouring a foundation by mid-June. He added he hopes the congregation can move into its new home by Halloween. Plan drawings for the new 6,000-square-foot church building show a 232-capacity sanctuary, three classrooms, a kitchen area and a conference room. New Creation currently meets in the western end of Centennial Mall, with regular services at 9:30 a.m. and 6 p.m. every Sunday.
The Craig Association of Realtors named 885 Rose St., belonging to Matt Cassidy, as its Yard of the Week for May 25 to 31.
