Moffat County junior golfer Heather Nicholson battles the elements during the 2008 season-opener in Rifle. Nicholson and the Bulldogs fell victim to Mother Nature for the second consecutive year Monday in Montrose. The 2009 opener was canceled because of snow, preventing the team from competing until a scheduled round March 31 at Tiara Rado Golf Course in Grand Junction.
Moffat County High School swimmer Cole Worsley participates in the 100-yard butterfly during the 2008 season. The Bulldogs swim team competed in its first competitive meet of the 2009 season Friday and Saturday in Montrose.

Jennifer Riley, a Craig City Council candidate, speaks with Craig AARP Chapter No. 1418 during a candidate forum Monday at Sunset Meadows I for the upcoming city election. Joe Bird, Terry Carwile and Mayor Don Jones joined Riley to speak with Craig residents at the forum.
